Water at the Intersection of Diplomacy and Science (March 22, 2023- New York City)
İzmir Institute of Technology (İYTE) has been granted special accreditation for participation in the United Nations 2023 Water Conference, the world’s largest water event. Within the scope of the conference to be held in New York on 22-24 March 2023, many high-level meetings and special events will be held with the participation of the United Nations, member states and other stakeholders. IZTECH, which was invited to the conference within the scope of the research and training activities carried out in the International Water Resources department, will take place as one of the two academic institutions participating on behalf of Turkey.
In the conference, major themes such as “Water for Health”, “Water for Sustainable Development”, “Water for Climate, Resilience and Environment”, “Water for International Cooperation” and “Water Action Plan” will be discussed.
Within the scope of the conference, an international panel meeting titled “Water at the Intersection of Diplomacy and Science” will be held by IZTECH International Water Resources Department on March 22, World Water Day. In the event that will take place at the New York Türkevi Center under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, many experts from academia, public and civil society around the world will discuss the importance of science in water diplomacy from different aspects.
